Get the Highest Speed Out of Your Wireless Computer Network

Author : Gregory Walding

When it comes to a wireless standard, the first thing we all
look at is how fast will this baby run! And you know the
trade-offs, you can spend a lot of money to get the fastest
thing running, or you can back off a little and save a lot.

The good thing about wireless networks is that the price
difference between wireless standards is almost gone. There are
some things that could add up, but I will explain the difference
and why you might want to go that route or not.

Now, let's get to the different wireless standards you can
choose from.

1. 802.11b - 11Mbit at 2.GHz 2. 802.11a - 54Mbit as 5.0GHz 3.
802.11g - 54Mbit at 2.4GHz 4. Hybrid Systems

When you get ready to purchase your equipment, you will see a
lot of systems saying that they are faster than these standards
listed above. Most will say 108Mbit per second, some 125Mbit per
second and a few even higher. To operate at these speeds usually
requires you to only use their network cards to access their
access points, some of them require a specific card from them to
get that speed. If any other card connects, then they will drop
back to the standard speed and you lose the extra speed you
probably paid extra to get.

What Should You Get

I was purchasing equipment for a completely new wireless setup.
We only had one older wireless computer and I replaced the card
in it with a new one. I did purchase a system that advertised
the 108Mbit speeds since I knew who was going to connect to it.

If you are building a new network setup, I suggest you purchase
a system that will run faster than the standard, but only if you
know who is connecting. If not, then get a system that runs on
the 802.11g standard. The price is about the same as 802.11b but
runs 5 times faster.

Making A Family Budget That You Can Stick With

Author : lee dobbins

Some people do a lot of compulsive buying. It may feel good now that the item has been purchased but this will all go away when the bill comes and there isnt that much money left for savings. Can anything be done to stop this from happening? The answer is yes. All the individual has to do is make a budget plan that everyone in the household will follow. The objective of the family budget is to spend less than how much the individual is actually earning. This could be from the salaries of the spouses and any other investments such as stocks or properties being leased out which is income generating. The first step in making a budget is making everyone compute how much is actually being spent per month. This is the only for everyone to realize that spending for example $4.00 a day for coffee is actually $80 a month if the individual does this 5 days a week. The question then becomes if this is necessary? If the family buys coffee for the home, why not just make it then bring it to work in a mug? The money saved can be spent on paying for credit card bills in full rather than paying the minimum and earning interest. Some rules must be set when making purchases. If this exceeds for example $300, the spouses must first discuss if this is needed. There might be a similar item available at a cheaper price in another store. Most stores accept either cash or a credit card in making a purchase. One way to save money is to find out if this can be paid through an installment plan. This will ease the burden of paying for the item if there isnt that much money in the wallet when the bill comes at the end of the month. Energy conservation is also part of the family budget. If no one is in the room, the lights or even the air conditioner should be turned off. The faucets must also be closed properly so that the amount paid per month to both companies is not that big. Even before the pending oil crisis, families were encouraged to car pool to get from one destination to another. If the place where the person wants to go is not that far, it will be a good idea to walk, take a bike or rely on public transportation, which can save some money that, was once used for gas. Most homes have a telephone. If the individual pays more than $50 a month, perhaps it is best to start looking for another carrier that is offering a similar package at a more affordable rate. Shopping at the grocery doesnt have to be tedious every time. There are some establishments that are cheaper than others and also offer promos to the customer. The person should just drive around the neighborhood and find it. Many American families give children allowance. This is used to buy food or spent on buying clothes and other items from the mall. Another way to save on money will be reduce the amount given if this is necessary. The kids will likely complain if a friend gets more in a week so it is best to suggest an option like getting a part time job to offset the cash reduced in the allowance. A few options are mowing the gardens or clearing the gutters of the neighbors, delivering newspaper and even doing some household chores. A survey has shown a lot of children like this idea because it allows the kid to earn more money that what is usually given at the start of the week. A study has shown that the average American household spends more than $500 on expenses a month. If there are a lot of children and the house is quite big, this can even exceed $1,000. The family especially the kids must understand the money does not from trees. The parents have to work or one of the spouses will have to take a second job just to make ends meet. There are ways to save money like those mentioned above. The challenging part is sticking to the plan especially if some people in the household cannot control the urge to buy something at the spur of the moment. Several Tips to Finding the Right School Fast

Author : Parone Lascuola

Searching for a school or college can be a time consuming and confusing time and knowing which ones to apply for and then which one to accept can be difficult ad even a little traumatic. But there are many ways of minimizing both the time taken and the confusion involved so that the process is a little less stressful. Firstly you need to decide whether you want to attend school or college in your own area or state, or whether you are prepared to move to another location; and if so, how far you are prepared to relocate. Of course, your test scores may preclude some choice in this matter. You also need to have some idea of what you can afford some colleges are more expensive than others and some offer payment plans and scholarships while others do not. Then talk to your current schools career advisor to seek their counsel and see what they have to say. They may recommend some schools above others as they may be more suited to your needs, talents and situation and overall career ambition. The next thing to do is get online. There are many web sites on the Internet where you can enter information, such as your region, annual cost preference, freshman year class size preference, preference regarding the size of the surrounding community, and school type (public or private) they are then processed in a database and the site spits out a series of school recommendations. Other sites offer tips and strategies for obtaining scholarships and paying for college. Another web site allows you to register for a SAT Program test and send the results to various colleges and scholarship programs. A Google entry for school/college search will give you more than 660,000 results. Some results are region or specialty specific for instance there is a web site devoted to assisting you to find the right college at which to complete your MBA. Some sites are quite possibly not as legitimate or as thorough as others. There are a myriad to choose from. Which ever school you choose, using the World Wide Web to guide your search for a college or school will definitely make it an easier, less time-consuming and hopefully a far less confusing task. A Newsletter Is Worth A Thousand Words ? Part 2

Author : Janice Byer, CCVA, MVA

In Part 1 of our article on newsletters, we discussed the benefits of a newsletter and there various formats they can be designed in. In Part 2, we will discuss what kind of content to include, where to find that content and how to promote your newsletter. What should be included & where do I find it?:One question that many people ask when they are considering starting a newsletter is what should be included. Again, your target audience will be the main factor that will determine what you want to include. But no matter who your audience is, be sure to make your content timely. If a world event may affect your industry, be sure to include articles that show the various possible points of view.Another question that many readers (and prospective newsletter editors) ask is, ?where do you find your content?? Actually, most of the content in Virtual TidBits finds me. I do write articles myself but also include information from other writers and sources. Once you start publish a newsletter, you can submit it to Ezine directories. Most of these directories will ask you if you accept content. By answering yes, writers will submit their articles for your newsletter.A few sites you can submit your newsletter/ezine to are http://bestezines.com/submit, http://ezine-marketing.com/cgi-bin/search/search.cgi, & http://ezine-universe.com.Another way of finding content for your newsletter is to read other newsletters and ezines that are similar to yours or that target similar markets to yours. These newsletters may include information that you may find helpful and your readers find helpful. If you spot a particular article or other content that you would like to use, it is recommended that you contact the newsletter editor or the author of the article and ask to use it before you go ahead and include it in your newsletter. Editors will appreciate that you are actually reading the content in their newsletters and authors usually like to have copies of publications that their articles appear in and may request a copy or subscribe to your newsletter. Once you have approached an author, you will probably be added to their mailing list and they will send you future articles that are appropriate for your newsletter. You can also pick up articles from various websites that collect articles strictly for the purpose of offering them as newsletter content. Some of those sites include http://www.marketing-seek.com, http://www.ezinearticles.com, http://www.web-source.net/articlesub.htm, & http://www.authorconnection.com.Other ideas for possible content for your newsletter are: Special dates for the month, Jokes or limericks (be sure they are not offensive), Helpful links and tips, Crossword or Word Search puzzles, Testimonials, Profiles of your clients or contacts, Book Reviews, Upcoming events in your industry, And of course, information about what your business offers. Some of the above suggestions will come to you through emails, discussion lists, or just surfing the net. Be sure to set aside a folder in your email program and an area in your Favorites list in your browser for anything that may seem like good content for your newsletter.Whether or not you choose to include advertising in your newsletter is your own choice but don?t overdo it. It is a way to make a few bucks to offset your time but ask yourself one question, ?How much advertising do I like to see in a newsletter??Also, learn by example. What is it about other newsletter that you receive that you like and dislike? Just remember to think about your readers when deciding what to include in your newsletter. Ask them for feedback and what they would like to see included in upcoming issues. Producing a successful newsletter is not all that difficult but you must be sure to make time to do it on a regular basis. How do I promote my newsletter?: The next step in the success of your newsletter or ezine is promotion. The following are just a few ways you can promote your newsletter: Include your article archives on your website and be sure to have a sign email address or form for your visitors to sign up. Put a link to your newsletter in the signature lines you use in your emails. If you write articles, be sure to add a short sentence in the contact information that you include at the end of your articles. Invite your newsletter readers to pass on each and every issue of your newsletter to their friends and associates. If allowed, announce the your current issue of your newsletter is available to those on any email discussion lists that you are on. Don?t include the newsletter, just include instructions on how people can get it and how they can sign up to receive it automatically. Exchange ads or information with other newsletter publishers. And, be sure to submit your newsletter to various submission sites, http://bestezines.com/submit, http://ezine-marketing.com/cgi-bin/search/search.cgi, & http://ezine-universe.com.No matter how you choose to format your newsletter or what you choose to include in it, newsletters are one of the best ways to showcase your business, build credibility as an expert in your field, and stay in touch with your contacts. Why did I do that? How to deal with a lapse in your weight loss efforts

Author : Janice Elizabeth Small

If you've had a bad day on your diet (or a bad binge or even a
bad week) don't despair.

I know it's all too easy to beat yourself up over it. You feel
guilty for breaking your promises to yourself and sabotaging
your diet and more than a little angry and depressed at your
lack of control.

But before you get too gloomy and reach for the Ben and Jerry's
which somehow escaped you last night, stop and think for a
moment.

A bad day or even a bad week is not enough to "break your diet"
unless you let it get you down. It's what you eat over the long
run that counts. It's eating more calories than you need day
after day after day that makes you fat not a one-off
over-indulgence.

But what can you do if you really did go mad last night? What
can you do today to get back on track after you've come off the
rails?

1. Whatever you do don't weigh yourself unless you love being
miserable. Chances are you had a load of sugar and/or salt last
night and you'll be retaining more water than a camel embarking
on a trek across the Sahara. Consequently, you'll have gained
more pounds than you possibly could from the extra calories you
ate. So don't even think about stepping on the scales for 2 days.

2. Every day, but especially today you should aim for eating
modest portions of healthy foods whenever you are hungry,
stopping when you are satisfied rather than stuffed. More than
ever today you need to feel in control. So no starvation rations
or you'll only set yourself up for a hunger-induced "clear out
the cupboard" binge later on.

3. Normally it's best not to skip breakfast but if you are still
full from the previous day, it can wait. Just make sure you have
a healthy snack ready for when hunger does strike.

4. Take time to enjoy your food today. Sometimes we hardly taste
the food when we are eating too much, we eat it so quickly,
trying to stop ourselves thinking too much as we shovel it in.
Actually taste everything which passes your lips today and put
yourself back in control.

5. Spend a few moments thinking about why you temporarily blew
your weight loss plans. What thoughts were running through your
head? What situation had you put yourself in? What can you learn
from that? How will you deal with those thoughts, those
situations next time because as sure as eggs are eggs they, or
something similar, will happen again. Be prepared.

6. Stay positive. Relax a little. Tell yourself "Yes, I broke my
diet but that's OK. I'm human. I'm not meant to be perfect. I'm
going to treat myself well, eating healthily as much as I can.
If I have the odd lapse it doesn't change my determination to
keep going." Build yourself up. Give yourself a little
(non-food) present. You deserve the best and you can do whatever
you set your mind to.

The best way to get over a lapse is to treat it like the
insignificant blip it is and just get right back on track!

Manual search engine submission Vs Automated search engine Submission

Author : Lazar Stalin

Manual search engine submission is the best, effective and preferred method when it comes to submitting your website in the search engines. Search engines expect every details of the site to be filled in manually through their website mechanism. Automated submission through back door is considered as a SPAM in most of the popular search engines and directories. There are hundreds of general and niche search engines which are eager to accept your website if you submit the required information in the right category according to the submission guidelines. The question is how you are going to do the search engine submissions and which search engines are you going to submit in? Certainly you dont want to submit your mortgage site in a "health directory or place it in the sports category of a general web directory. You may have come acrossCompletely automated search engine submission service that submits your site to 90,000 search engines on a click of mouse ... IN SECONDS!"and lot of other softwares which claim to automatically submit your website to thousands of search engines and directories. The rates of these submissions are very cheap and so is the result of these submissions. Chances are your website will be blacklisted by some of the popular search engines and directories. Consider the facts before you utilize a software or service to do automatic search engine submission.Every search engine and directory is unique and the have various features which differ in Different categories and sections. (Some may have as less as 12 main categories while others have more than 3000 categories classified into sub categories and inner categories. The category names are not consistent across the directories) Different types of form input. Some search engines will ask for a very few details of your website whereas a dedicated account is needed in others for submitting your website. You need to do a detailed registration by providing phone numbers, address etc. Registration and confirmation methods. Most of the search engines and directories need a confirmation from your email to avoid automatic submission. CAPTCHA (IMAGE Confirmation) A picture with numbers which have to be manually entered. This is also to avoid automated submission. Approval of your website. Maximum number of submissions per user (some of them restrict to a single submission per user) Frequency of submission.. The popular search engines and directories are opposed to automated submissions and it is considered as a SPAM. No automated software or service can take into account the above different features of search engines and directories while submitting the web sites. The fact is most of the directories do a manual review on the submissions and will find out the automated submissions sooner or later and block them. What is manual search engine submission and how is it better than automated search engine submission?Manual search engine submission is the process of analyzing where and what to submit in the search engines and directories by experts and doing each and every submission by hand ensuring a good acceptance rate for your website. Manual search engine submission involvesAnalyzing your website, doing the submission text with title, description, key words and creating a unique account. Collecting the appropriate search engine and directories for submission and submit the website in the right category. Modify the submission text as per the need of various search engines and directories. Confirming the submissions (Image confirmation, email confirmations) wherever needed and co coordinating with the editors of search engines and directories whenever required. The advantage over automated search engine submission isFirst and foremost, manual search engine submission is the only acceptable method of submission to a search engine or directory. Automated article submission is considered as SPAM which is obvious from the various confirmations implemented by them. A directory is organized into categories and subcategories. Editors review each submission manually and evaluate the submission. In manual search engine submission the websites are submitted in the related directory, search engine under the right category which is not possible in the case of automated submission. Automated software can't adequately submit to any article directory because it cannot study the directorys structure and decide which category is best suited. Websites are submitted according to the different input systems of various directories by manual submission. Whereas automated submission just posts a set of predefined data irrespective of the input fields which results in an incomplete submission followed by rejection. No search engine or directory is skipped in manual submission. Any Image confirmation (CAPCHA code) and email confirmation is done immediately which is not possible with automated software. Incase for any reason the search engine, directory is down or the website submission is not through, then it will be done another time. More emphasis on niche search engines, directory related to your website theme. Very high acceptance compared to an automated search engine submission. The Benefits of Using Conference Calling for the Psychotherapist

Author : Tom Parker
Conference calling can save you time and money. For those who
are psychotherapists, time is extremely important. Not only do
you need the time to talk to your patience, but you need to
confer with other doctors as well. Conference calling can do
many things for you. You can find these benefits to make your
job simpler, allowing you more time to make it profitable and
beneficial to the patients. All the way around, conference
calling is a great product to have. Here are some of its
benefits to the psychotherapist.First of all, conference calling can lock you into a
conversation with many people. This means that you can plug in
several associates or even a group of patients for a group
session. Assuming that you use it in this way, you are saving
yourself quite a bit of time and expense, but you are also
getting a one on one experience to all of those individuals
included.Consider the cost savings. If you need to have even just one
secretary sitting into a meeting, you are paying too much. With
conference calling, you save money because you can have the call
recorded. If you need to use group therapy with your patients, consider
using conference calling. Of course, many individuals will
prefer that they can listen into a conversation and not have to
have others see who they actually are. This can help people to
open up, to divulge what they need to and to begin to heal with
your direction. Because everyone has the ability to communicate
with everyone else, they may just feel more comfortable doing so
without having to face the person directly.Using Conference CallingUsing conference calling in your profession can be quite easy.
You can talk to a group of people from the same area, from the
same state or even across the world. This makes it easy to get a
group of doctors together to talk about an issue. It helps to
bring together people from across the country for the same cause.
And, it is time and money saving to you by cutting your costs
considerably. Are you concerned that it will be too expensive? Concerned with
it being too hard to use? If so, you do not need to worry. All
the individual calling into the call will need to do is call a
specific number and enter a code that you provide to them. It is
that easy. They can then talk to you, talk to others on the call
or simply listen. Virtually anyone from around the world can be
included. Lastly, conference calling for the psychotherapist is
quite affordably priced. For even those on a limited budget, it
can be easy to afford. It is much less expensive than having to
travel from place to place or paying fees for a meeting room.
Conference calling is a great tool for any psychotherapist to use
in their daily practice!Tom Parker has put together a website to help people who want to
have a conference call and made it affordable for everyone!

http://www.affordableconferencing.com is your place for
reliable, affordable, reservationless teleconference lines for

Asperger's Syndrome at Christmas Time

Author : Nelle Frances
The Christmas season is a time of joy and peace; celebrating with loved ones; when a feeling of hope renews the spirit. At least that's what it's meant to be like…however the reality for those of us blessed with a child with Asperger's Syndrome is often very different!A sense of anticipation and excitement for the approaching Christmas celebrations, and the wonder and magic this period of waiting brings is something most of us remember fondly from our
own childhood. Preparing for Christmas Day from 1st December by putting up the Christmas tree and decorations; sending and receiving Christmas cards amongst friends and family; cooking
Christmas puddings and mince pies; shopping for Christmas presents and hanging the Christmas stockings held a sense of wonder. The building of anticipation only added to our enjoyment of the season. So it's only natural that we try to recapture the magic of our childhood Christmas's and recreate that same sense of wonder for our own children, by steadily increasing their anticipation for the 25 days leading up to Christmas.Unfortunately, anticipation for the Asperger child is often a negative emotion that leads to overload, resulting in meltdown. So the reality for families with Asperger children means a steady increase in negative and inappropriate behaviours that often results in a huge meltdown on
Christmas Eve or Christmas Day – the very time when we are meant to be enjoying the fruits of our preparation labors, a time of peace and joy.Instead your child is behaving like a 'demon possessed' and creating havoc amongst his/her siblings, upsetting Aunt Flora and giving you 'attitude' when you try to diplomatically reprimand them – after all, it's Christmas and you don't really want to yell and scream! So, how do you manage to foster some Christmas spirit amongst your family while keeping your Asperger child calm and behaving appropriately? The first easy-to-implement strategy is to remove the word "Christmas" from your vocabulary. Simply put up the "tree" and "decorations", cook a "pudding" and "mince pies", send "cards" to friends and family and just go "shopping". If appropriate, have a meeting with the rest of the family and ask their assistance in this area too, by minimising their use of the word "Christmas" in front of their sibling with Asperger's Syndrome.Secondly, when your Asperger child is present cut back on "chatter" about the BIG day. I know that our "inner child" tends to get excited about Christmas too, but we often unthinkingly contribute to the overwhelming anticipation by relating our plans and expectations for the Christmas season to our children as we go about our preparations.Thirdly, don't place any gifts under the tree until Christmas Eve. In our family, on Christmas Eve, each member privately wraps gifts in the afternoon and then they are placed under the tree all at once. This satisfies 2 concerns – "Out of sight, out of mind" – no visual reminders that Christmas is approaching, and it also minimises the waiting time for your Asperger child – we all know that being patient and the ability to wait aren't usually strengths in Asperger children!Minimising the Christmas 'build-up' for your Asperger child doesn't have to mean the end of tradition or a lessening of your family's enjoyment of the Christmas Season. Rather, by reducing the anticipation and expectation of Christmas to acceptable levels for an Asperger child, your family should experience an increase in the peace, joy and hope of the Christmas Season. Merry Christmas!www.nellefrances.comNelle Frances is the mother of a 15 year old with Asperger's Syndrome, a Special Needs Educator and Author of the Ben and His Helmet series of books for Asperger children.
